Boy I can relate to this! I wake up every morning and wonder where the time is going. Do you ever do that? Have you noticed that, the older you and your children get, the faster time seems to fly? I'm very lucky - I get to spend time with my daughter every morning. But, not a day goes by that I don't think about her no longer needing me or her not being here with me every day. These times will always be precious to me, and I thank God that I have more than just the memories to help me relive them...

Imagine this: I have this great professional photograph I took of my daughter, Alyssa. I call it the serenity photograph because she had fallen asleep in her stroller after a long walk. There's so much heart - so much emotion in this single image. That one photograph means so much to me; I can't even describe how I would feel if I were to lose it.
I took this photograph of her when she was only a year old, and I can still remember to this day exactly what that day was like.
It was so perfect. And that entire day - that entire moment in my daughters and my life - is captured in this moment. She had just turned one and after a year of waking up at all hours, here she was, so peaceful and serene. More than any other photograph I have taken so far (and trust me there are a lot) that photograph captured that innocent spirit that will always make me smile.

It's no wonder most photographers have to resort to telling children to "say cheese" in order to get any expression even resembling a smile.
